COMMENTS

The harvestmen of Poland are better studied than the other orders of arachnids. It is, hovewer, a group not so numerous and whose species are thoroughly described both in monographs of the Polish fauna (STARÊGA 1976) as well as in those of the former Czechoslovakia (©ILHAVİ 1956) and Germany, or more exactly of the whole Central Europe (MARTENS 1978). Therefore there are only few problems concerning the percentage of already known or not yet recorded species. One can assume, that to the current list the following species could be added: Odiellus lendli (SOER.) and Zachaeus lupatus (EICHW.) in  SE Poland (vicinity of Przemy¶l or Hrubieszów), Dicranolasma scabrum (HERBST) in Bieszczady or Beskid Niski Mts, or Anelasmocephalus cambridgei (WESTW.) in SW Poland, maybe some of the alpine species [e.g. Platybunus pinetorum (C.L.K.)] in higher parts of the Sudeten. Possible is also a „visit” of a species introduced by man (like Nelima semproni) or expanding its range [though using rather human help too, as Opilio canestrinii or Odiellus spinosus (BOSC)]. The main part of the fauna, comprising over 90 % species, however, is already known.
